Mission
The mission of the Kentucky Scholars Initiative is to better prepare today's students for tomorrow's challenges by encouraging them to take the types of courses that have been documented to enhance their post high school success.
Courses like those outlined in the Kentucky Scholars Core Course of Study and based on the template provided by the Center for State Scholars in Austin, Texas, have been proven to enhance earnings potential and success in college for those who follow it.[More]
Goals
It is the goal of the Partnership for Successful Schools, state sponsor of the Kentucky Scholars Program to:
- Increase the percentage of students taking courses outlined in the Scholars Course of Study
- Make it available to every student and school district in Kentucky
- Engage the entire community in support of its own Kentucky Scholars program
- Convene statewide discussions whose result will be enhanced experience and elevated outcomes for high school students
- Work with state colleges and universities to recognize Kentucky Scholars as preferred candidates for admission
